The Batman reportedly heading to Glasgow for additional photography

According to a new report, The Batman is heading back to Scotland for a week of additional photography, and then down to England for another two weeks.

The Daily Record is reporting that The Batman is about to do some additional photography at two locations in the United Kingdom. First up will be a return to Glasgow where the production previously filmed, and then moving on to York, England.

A source said of the Glasgow filming in particular, “There’s been a lot of hype about the film following the initial filming in Scotland in February and the crew are looking forward to coming back in mid-July, although it wasn’t an expected trip. It’s expected to be mainly re-shoots being done, probably of some of the stunt scenes.”

They went on to add, “Filming will take place at the Necropolis again and also in the Merchant City and should take around a week in total. Then they’ll be heading down to York for a further two weeks’ work with a view to completely finishing production by the end of July.”

The report indicates that both Robert Pattinson (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot) will be involved in the filming for Scotland, but it is not known what cast will be present in York.

Additional photography and reshoots are not unusual on big-budget films and are to be expected. In our opinion, a lot of this does feel more like additional photography as to the best of our knowledge, Pattinson never filmed at the Necropolis in Glasgow, only his stunt double. As to the filming in York, the interior of York cathedral was what was reportedly built at the Cardington Sheds back in Feb. 2020.

With the film returning to location shooting, we’ll be keeping an eye out for set photos in the coming weeks.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
