Batwoman season 2 just wrapped up, but it appears casting work is already underway for season 3 with three new characters slated to be added.
According to a report from the Illuminerdi, casting directors are currently looking to fill three new roles for the third season. The first two are original characters, while the final one will be the popular comic character, Renee Montoya.
“Jada Jet” is described as a black woman in her late 40s to early 40s who is the CEO of Jet Industries. While work is important to her, she is also very protective of her reckless son, Marquis. She has a deep past that includes giving up her first child.
“Marquis Jet” is described as reckless and menacing. As a child, he had an encounter with one of Batman’s villains that left him finding delight in the suffering and terror of others. The only person who can keep him in check is his mother.
And, finally, “Renee Montoya” is well known to DC fans from, Batman: The Animated Series, the comics, and live-action projects such as Gotham & Birds of Prey and more. According to the casting sides, Montoya will be a former member of the GCPD and now works in the mayor’s office in the “freaks division.” This sounds like a good way to possibly have her appear as The Question, a vigilante persona she has taken on in the comics.
It sounds as though there are some big plans in store for Batwoman season 3. And with the new Kate Kane off looking for Bruce Wayne, we could see things getting especially crazy by the end of the season.
Batwoman season 3 will debut on Oct. 13, 2021.
