The Suicide Squad has a huge roster of DC villains in it, but it seems that director James Gunn considered a lot of other potential characters as well.

Gunn spent some time on Saturday answering fan questions and revealed some other characters he considered to be in the film. “When I first considered taking the job of writing #TheSuicideSquad I kept a file folder of characters I was considering. Here are just a few (of many) that didn’t make the cut (for now!),” said Gunn.

The first batch he showed included Livewire, Punch & Jewlee, Black Spider, and Deathstroke.

“Every character in #TheSuicideSquad was chosen for a purpose, great or small, and although I love many of these other characters, they didn’t serve the story quite as well,” said Gunn. He then showed Man-Bat, Plastique, Chemo, and KGBeast.

“I am of course open to using them in the future. And there are many more wonderful @DCComics characters where these came from. See #TheSuicideSquad in theaters next month!” Gunn then showed Solomon Grundy, The Rainbow Creature, Gunhawk & Gunbunny, and Knockout.

Later in the thread, Gunn shared that Killer Frost and Mr. Freeze were also on his list. He did consider Bronze Tiger briefly, but decided he wasn’t enough of a pure villain.

If Gunn gets to make another film, it looks like we’re in for quite the team.

The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters and HBO Max on Aug. 6, 2021 in the U.S., and will be in theaters in the U.K. on July 30.
