The Suicide Squad is almost upon us, and Empire is sharing two new photos from the film to celebrate.
Following up on the release of multiple new covers, Empire has also shown off two exclusive photos. First up is Bloodsport (Idris Elba) with his helmet on as Peacemaker (John Cena) takes aim at an unknown target.

The second image shows Bloodsport along with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), King Shark, and Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian) staring at what we’re going to assume is more than likely the big monster of the film, Starro.

Empire also took the opportunity to share a new photo from the upcoming TV spinoff, Peacemaker.

Speaking to how the show came about, Gunn said, “Peacemaker has a clear set of ideals that I find really interesting. You know: ‘I want peace no matter how many men, women and children I need to kill to get it.’ Sounds like nonsense, but it also makes a lot of sense. And you see in John’s performance how he does not feel good about it – something I thought was the seed of an entire eight-episode show.”
John Cena added, “This guy is a loud, obnoxious, bro-ey douchebag,. That sucks. But why? At what point did he become such a douchebag and what does that mean? There’s a lot to dive into there.”
The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters and HBO Max on Aug. 6, 2021 in the U.S., and will be in theaters in the U.K. on July 30.
