The CW has chosen Victoria Cartagena to play Renee Montoya in Batwoman season 3, and no one will blame you if that makes you do a double-take.
Batwoman has been looking for an actress to play Renee Montoya, and it seems they found the perfect one as she has played the LGBTQ+ detective previously. Yes, Cartagena played Montoya on Fox’s Gotham. Deadline, however, has assured everyone that the universes are not connected and that this is a different version of Montoya.
This version of Montoya will be working in the GCPD’s “freaks division.” And it seems she has some personal and mysterious reasons as to why she is so determined to clean up the streets of Gotham.
Cartagena joins the other new cast member, Robin Givens, as a series regulars.
Batwoman season 3 has just begun filming in Vancouver and will premiere on The CW on Oct. 13, 2021.
