After years of false starts, a Y: The Last Man trailer has arrived giving us our first real look at the series.
The Vertigo comic series has kicked around Hollywood since at least 2015 and has had multiple starts and stops along the way.
The last major issue was a change in the lead actor after Barry Keoghan had dropped out of the production in Feb. 2020. He was later replaced with Ben Schnetzer in March of the same year.
The series will also star Diane Lane as Senator Jennifer Brown, Imogen Poots as Hero Brown, Latasha Lynch as Agent 355, Juliana Canfield as Beth, Marin Ireland as Nora, Amber Tamblyn as Mariette Callows, and Timothy Hutton as the U.S. President.
Only one remained… The question is Y. Y: The Last Man premieres September 13. Streaming exclusively on FX on Hulu.
Based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. The series follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.
Y: The Last Man will premiere on FX on Hulu on Sept. 13.
