The cast of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom has added three new cast members, and announced another one is returning.
Warner Bros. has announced that three new actors are joining the cast of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. Jani Zhao (Kingdom) will be playing a new character only known as “Stingray” for now. Indya Moore (Pose) will be playing Karson, an intelligent shark who was a Green Lantern villain dating back to 1963’s Green Lantern #24. Vincent Regan will be replacing Graham McTavish in the role of Atlan.
It has also been announced that Ray Park will be returning as Dr. Stephen Shin.
All four of the cast members will be joining Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
For the time being, the plot of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently under wraps. In 2019 it was rumored that the sequel would introduce The Others. First appearing in the Geoff Johns run on Aquaman, The Others were a group of Atlanteans that teamed up with Aquaman and then eventually appeared again to safeguard ancient artifacts. Each has their own set of powers as well with Sky being able to talk to the dead and Ya’Wara commanding jungle cats. This would be a major change for Aquaman, and would also allow him to have a team of his own that could also lead to eventual spinoffs.
With the amount of time that has passed, plans could have changed, but the original source of this rumor was Aquaverse which also leaked the inclusion of The Trench sequence four years before the release of the first film.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently filming and is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2022.
