After over 80 years, Superman’s mission statement is about to change.
Announced at DC FanDome on Saturday, DC revealed that Superman’s mission statement is changing to “Truth, Justice and A Better Tomorrow.” Jim Lee explained that the reasoning was that it better reflects the stories that the company is trying to tell.
To better reflect the storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor Superman’s incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world, Superman’s motto is evolving. Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him forward with this new mission statement: Truth, Justice and A Better Tomorrow. The announcement was made at DC FanDome by DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee.
Superman was long associated with his slogan of “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” It was revised earlier in 2021 to “Truth, tolerance, and justice,” and it now moving back to something a bit closer to the original.
