The cast of the upcoming Batgirl for HBO Max has grown by one as Jacob Scipio has joined the film in an unknown role.
According to a report from Deadline, Scipio is next up opposite Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables 4. His breakout role, however, was in Bad Boys For Life.
Deadline is also saying that J.K. Simmons is now confirmed to return as Commissioner Gordon. This first surfaced as a rumor in July of this year, and this is the first indication we’ve had that it is now confirmed.
There has still been no official word on the villain of the film, but a persistent rumor has been some iteration of Firefly.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the film and are currently in Scotland preparing for the production. Christina Hodson (Bumblebee, Birds of Prey) wrote the film’s script.
No release date has been announced for Batgirl as of yet.
