Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society has picked Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters to script the upcoming Val Zod project for HBO Max.

According to a report from Deadline, Metayer & Peters have signed on to the project despite a recently busy schedule. They’ve sold The Nola to Amazon Prime with Sam Raimi attached to direct, Apple has picked up their one-hour pilot based on Carthaginian general Hannibal, and they recently worked on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

As it stands right now, it is unclear if Jordan will be involved with the project outside of serving as an Executive Producer. He will be joined in these duties by Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society.

Val Zod is also a Kryptonian that finds his way to Earth, but in the comics, he served as the Superman of Earth-2.

The format of the project is still unclear with some saying it will be a film, and others calling it a mini-series. No word on when that will be clarified or any potential release dates as of yet.
