John Cena is back in the Peacemaker costume and out promoting his upcoming series on HBO Max.
Cena hit up San Diego Comic-Con Special Edition in full costume – not that we’re sure he takes it off – and showed off new footage, learned how to make a TikTok, and got to hug Eagley. All-in-all, it was a good day for Peacemaker.
We’re really starting to wonder where the line blurs between Cena and Peacemaker. And we don’t say that as a complaint.
Cena will reprise his role from the film in the series. Other actors include Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks was later added, and then two more got the nod including Jennifer Holland and Robert Patrick. Another round of cast additions were announced in Dec. 2020 including Chukwudi Iwuji (When They See Us) as a series regular, while Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale), Annie Chang (Shades of Blue), and Christopher Heyerdahl (Togo) were added as recurring guest stars. In May 2021 it was announced that Freddie Stroma would replace Chris Conrad in the role of Vigilante. Elizabeth Faith Ludlow and Rizwan Manji were added in early February, and were joined by Nhut Le as Judomaster later in the month. The last round of announced additions included Alison Araya and Lenny Jacobson as a married couple named Amber and Evan and will appear on a recurring basis.
A new Peacemaker trailer is due to be released on Dec. 3. The series will premiere on HBO Max on Jan. 13.
