Brendan Fraser just celebrated a birthday, and the directors of Batgirl decided to share some behind-the-scenes photos of the birthday boy.
Batgirl only recently began filming, but already one of its lead actors has had a birthday. The directors shared photos of the cake they gave him along with a video. It also gives us our first hints to the look of his character and confirmation that he will be playing a version of Firefly.
It’s still unknown which version of Firefly Fraser will be playing. Garfield Lynns made his debut as the original Firefly in Detective Comics #184 in 1952. Ted Carson was the second person to use the moniker making his debut in Batman #126 in 1959.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the film and are currently in Scotland on the production. Christina Hodson (Bumblebee, Birds of Prey) wrote the film’s script. Leslie Grace will be playing Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, J.K. Simmons will be playing Commissioner Gordon, and Brendan Fraser has been cast as Firefly.
No release date has been announced for Batgirl as of yet.
