Marvel and DC are the biggest names in comic books, each with an army of household name characters. But what was it like for these two companies to be going head-to-head every week for decades?
The Roku Channel has an upcoming documentary called Slugfest from the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame) that will tell the story of the warring comic book companies.
The project was originally set up at Quibi, but all of their completed and ongoing projects were absorbed by The Roku Channel.
“Audiences will leave Slugfest with a whole new understanding of how the rivalry between two creative powerhouses shaped the iconic storylines and characters that fans around the world have come to know and love,” the Russo Brothers said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to partner with The Roku Channel to unpack the fascinating, but untold, history behind the most well-known competition in comics.”
The documentary is based on Reed Tucker’s book of the same name. Kevin Smith will serve as the narrator.
Slugfest will debut on the Roku Channel on Dec. 24.
