Robert Pattinson says he has plans for the character past The Batman

Robert Pattinson has said in a new interview that he has plans of where to take the Caped Crusader psychologically after The Batman, but that hasn’t been greenlit just yet.

Speaking with Empire for its latest issue, producer Dylan Clark “As the first standalone Batman in ten years, the hope is we can lay a foundation that you can build stories upon.” While that may sound like it could be a one-and-done, that seems unlikely with Gotham PD and Penguin series in the works at HBO Max.

Despite not knowing how much more he may be involved, Pattinson has made it clear that he has given a lot of thought as to where we could see Batman going psychologically if there should be two more films. “I’ve made a kind of map for where Bruce’s psychology would grow over two more movies,” said Pattinson. “I would love to do it.”

The new issue of Empire will feature three different covers – two for the newsstand, and one for subscribers – and be available on Dec. 23.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
