Warner Bros. has released a new synopsis and cast list for The Flash, and there is a pretty big surprise in the cast.
First, the new The Flash synopsis doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but it’s still worth seeing. Please note there is a potentially giant spoiler further down the story, and if you wish to avoid it we suggest that you stop reading now.
Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen, AKA The Flash, who pushes the limits of his superpowers in the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film.
What is really intriguing is the newly updated cast list.

Antje Traue played Faora in Man of Steel, but the big surprise is Michael Shannon apparently returning as General Zod. Seeing as he met his end in Man of Steel, and we know Barry will time travel in the new film, all we can assume is how somehow meets the villainous Kryptonians in the past.
There have also been rumors of Henry Cavill appearing, but there has been nothing concrete announced as of yet. Even his exclusion from the cast list doesn’t bring an end to the discussion quite yet as they may be trying to conceal the reveal. We’ll just have to wait and see if we do get an apperance from Superman.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
