Ben Affleck is out speaking with the press, and, as always, that means the topic of Batman is sure to come up. With The Flash movie on the way, that also means he has some new information to share with fans.
Speaking with The Herald Sun in support of his new film, The Tender Bar, Affleck did spend some time discussing Batman. And more specifically, about his time filming on the upcoming The Flash. “I have never said this — this is hot off the presses — but maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie,” said Affleck. “I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting — different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn’t work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, ‘Wow — I think I have finally figured it out.'”
Affleck did go on to reiterate that The Flash will bring his career as Batman to a close. He referred to his time filming additional scenes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League and working on The Flash as “a really nice finish on my experience with that character.”
The Flash will feature Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen. The film is being directed by Andy Muschietti from a script by Christina Hodson.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
