It seems that James Gunn isn’t quite done working with HBO Max on more DC projects according to a new interview.

According to a new interview with Collider, Gunn is in development on another series for the service, but he isn’t saying which one as of yet. “You know, we’re stepping forward. It keeps happening. We’ll see what’s happening, and I’ll know what’s happening very shortly. I dealt with it last night and this morning.” Gunn was pushed for more information on whether it was a movie or TV series, and said, “It’s TV. There you go.”

Gunn has spoken about how much he enjoyed the environment of working on TV for Peacemaker, so this isn’t too surprising. As to what the project could be, there were certainly enough characters left alive at the end of The Suicide Squad for one of them to have a series. From fan reactions, we wouldn’t be too surprised if it could be something based on Daniela Melchior’s Ratcatcher 2 character.

There is, of course, a chance the project is not related to the Suicide Squad at all. Warner Bros. is looking to make a lot of original content for HBO Max, and we suspect the studio would be willing to work with him on just about anything at the moment.

Whatever the project is, it will have to wait until he finishes his current duties to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. That film is due to hit theaters on May 23, 2023.
