Solve mysteries with Batman in Portal Games’ new tabletop adventure

Anyone that knows me knows I love two things: Batman and board games. Bonus points if the board game is actually more like a tabletop RPG, with a ton of cool narrative elements.

Naturally, I was ecstatic to see that Portal Games has announced a partnership with DC for not just one, but a whole series of narrative, crime-solving adventures (read: the perfect game for me specifically).

Based on the company’s Detective series of games, and packed with plenty of supplementary material both physical and digital, Batman: Everybody Lies sees players assume the role of one of four Gotham City investigators: journalist Warren Spacey, reporter Vicki Vale, GCPD Detective Harvey Bullock, or the feline vigilante Catwoman, and attempt to solve an increasingly tangled web of Gotham City mysteries. Over the course of the game, players will visit iconic Gotham landmarks (like the Batcave, Arkham Asylum, Blackgate Penitentiary, and the Gotham City Gazette) and deal with the city’s most famous (and infamous), like Batman, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, and more as they chase leads, identify suspects, and gather enough information to save Gotham.

Pre-orders for the game roll out March 4, 2022, and you can sign up for the Portal Games newsletter at www.portalgameus.com for updates and news.
