The Batman scores a strong second weekend at the box office

It was a strong second outing for The Batman as the numbers only dropped 51% from its opening bow.

The Batman took in a healthy $66 million this weekend for a new domestic total of $238.5 million and current projections have it finishing its domestic run at around $400 million. The weekend broke down as $18.8 million on Friday, Saturday took in $28.6 million, and Sunday estimated at $18.6 million.

The international markets took in $66.6 million for a new foreign total of $224.7 million. This brings the global total to $463 million. Current analyst projections have the film ending its global run somewhere around $800 million. Off of an estimated $200 million budget, it’s a good return and a sequel announcement seems like only a matter of time.

This week doesn’t bring any major releases that will threaten The Batman, so expect it to remain on top in its third outing as well.
