Fans of the Harley Quinn animated series can start getting excited, a spinoff series is in the works at HBO Max entitled Noonan’s.
Announced at the Not Kidding Around: Warner Bros. Animation and the Reimagining of Iconic Characters for an Adult Audience panel at the SXSW conference, we’re going to be getting a new adult animated series. Harley Quinn co-creator Patrick Schumacker made the announcement of Noonan’s and admitted it’s early enough in development that things may change.
As with any shows in early development, things can happen at any time that range from a difference in the premise to the show being dropped altogether.
According to Schumacker, Noonan’s will follow Kite Man as he buys Noonan’s Bar. “He tries to run the bar by himself but it doesn’t turn out so easy,” Schumacker revealed accoding to SlashFilm. “We have Harley and Ivy appear in the first episode, but after that we have with different goons and villains appearing every episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be kind of like ‘Cheers’ for supervillains.”
As to when Harley Quinn season 3 will debut, Schumacker would only say “soon.” He did also add that one episode will deal extensively with King Shark as he appeared in The Suicide Squad and that James Gunn will appear in the episode.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Harley Quinn are currently avaialble on HBO Max.
