It seems that Nicholas Cage has been giving some thought to just what villain he could play opposite Robert Pattinson in a sequel to The Batman.
Speaking with FOX 7 Austin at the premiere of The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent at SXSW, Cage shared which villain he would like to tackle in a future sequel to The Batman, and it’s not one that usually comes to mind.
“I like… oh, here’s something, I’ve been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I haven’t seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific, the villain that Vincent Price played on the ’60s show, Egghead,” said Cage. “I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros. I’m down for Egghead.”
Egghead was created specifically for the Adam West Batman series. He possesses a genius-level intellect and uses egg-themed weapons.
Cage famously played the character of Big Daddy in Kick-Ass which was clearly inspired by Batman. And his line delivery in the film was unmistakably based on Adam West’s performance from the 1966 series. His love for the series is very clear.
We don’t think Egghead is high on the list of potential villains for future installments in The Batman series, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
