The release date of The Batman on HBO Max has moved up by a day, and the premiere time for HBO has been announced.
Originally scheduled for April 19, it has been announced that The Batman will now premiere on HBO Max on Monday, April 18. For those waiting to see it on HBO, the film will premiere on April 23, at 8pm Eastern.
The film just wrapped up its sixth weekend at the box office with a worldwide box office total of $735.15 million with $359.05 million of that coming from the U.S. Off of a reported budget of $200 million, it seems as though it’s only a matter of time until we hear the announcement of a sequel.
The Batman is expected to release on Blu-ray and 4K discs on June 13, 2022.
Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies -Alfred Pennyworth (Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Wright)-amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.
Joining Robert Pattinson in The Batman are Paul Dano (The Riddler), Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Colin Farrell (The Penguin), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Jeffrey Wright (James Gordon), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), and more. Matt Reeves served as both writer and director.
