It looks as though Gotham City is losing one of its protectors as Batwoman has been canceled by The CW.
Showrunner Caroline Dries shared the news on Twitter, saying, “Just got the sad news that #Batwoman will not be seeing an S4. I am bummed, but full of gratitude. What an honor to make 51 episodes. So many inspiring, brilliant people contributed to this series. Thank you producers, cast and crew. Thank you, fans! We love you.”
The announcement comes a month after the third season finale aired on The CW. This is an odd time for the network as Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Global are looking into possibly selling it off. The exact future of all of the Arrowverse shows is a bit up in the air at the moment.
The series went through a large shakeup following its first season when Ruby Rose exited the series. A new character was introduced played by Javicia Leslie.
The CW has already renewed The Flash and Superman & Lois. Still undecided are Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, and Naomi.
