It would seem that James Gunn is going to be a busy man for some time to come in regards to DC projects.

Speaking with The Playlist, Gunn spoke of his multiple upcoming DC projects, and there are a lot of them. In addition to the already announced Peacemaker season 2, there is the rumored Amanda Waller series. Gunn did clarify that the Waller series has not been officially announced as of yet.

Gunn had already said he was working on a second series, but is still not announcing what it is. “I am working very seriously on another DC project, where I’m very involved in the writing and the direction of it. There will be some blending of the characters from ‘Peacemaker’ in the other shows I’m working on. And I’m involved with a couple of other [DC] things too.”

What is clear is that none of these projects is a sequel to The Suicide Squad as of yet. “Yeah, we’ve talked about it,” he said, in reference to a sequel. “But the honest truth is, I just have so many hours in a day to work on stuff. And I had such a fun time working in television that I really think that’s what I’m going to spend the next year of my life doing.”

Currently, Gunn has just completed filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Marvel Studios which is due for release on May 5, 2023. While we’re sure he will be able to fit in some script writing before then, don’t expect to see much if any filming until after that film has been released.
