A new report suggests that Lady Gaga will be joining Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à deux as Harley Quinn.
According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga is in talks to join the cast of the second Joker film in the role of Harley Quinn. There is an even bigger twist as the report goes on to say the film is being designed as a musical.
Speculation had been high that Harley Quinn would included in the film when the title was announced as Joker: Folie à deux. The title refers is a medical term for when two people share a similar medical diagnosis. And if you ever think of a counterpart to Joker, it’s almost always going to be Harley.
Phoenix is not reportedly a locked cast member as of yet, but is said to be deep into negotiations to return to the role that earned him an Academy Award.
All of this information is very much rumor at the moment, but with reports of Lady Gaga’s mother following Todd Phillips on Instagram as of Monday morning, it does seem something is afoot.
No word on a target release date of the followup to the smash 2019 film as of yet.
