Netflix has released a second Sandman trailer showing us even more of what to expect from the highly-anticipated adaptation.
The release date for Sandman is quickly approaching, and that means it’s time for another trailer.
There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.
The new footage shows gives more in-depth looks at the characters we’ll be seeing including The Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook), Johanna Constantine (Jenna Coleman), Lucienne (Vivienne Acheampong), Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie), Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and more.
The series looks like it will be staying pretty faithful to the comic, and considering how deep that became, it will be interesting to see how far it’s willing to go.
The Sandman will debut on Netflix on Aug. 5.
