Shazam and Aquaman sequels receive delayed release dates

Both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have been delayed to new release dates in 2023.

Warner Bros. Pictures announced on Wednesday that Shazam!: Fury of the Gods is moving from its release date this December, to March 17, 2023. That leaves Black Adam as the only DC film for the remainder of this year.

With that release date change, that also means that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom needs to move, and it is now slated for Dec. 25, 2023.

The changes to the Warner Bros. Pictures schedule were not limited to just DC films, however. Other films such as Nun 2 were moved, while the remake of Salem’s Lot was removed entirely for the time being. A remake of House Party has now moved from being an HBO Max original to a theatrical release and will hit theaters in Dec. of this year.

Clearly, newly installed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav is not done with his shakeups of the company’s schedule and release plans. What changes may come next are anyone’s guess as it appears nothing is off of the table.
