After years of hopes by fans, it appears that Keanu Reeves is finally returning for a sequel to Constantine.
According to Deadline, Reeves has agreed to return to the role of John Constantine. Director Francis Lawrence will also be returning to the franchise that launched his feature film directorial career.
Akiva Goldsman has been tapped to pen the screenplay and produce through his Weed Road Pictures. Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella are also set as producers. Lorenzo DiBonaventura and Erwin Stoff are set as executive producers.
Warner Bros Pictures Group co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are said to have spearheaded the deal.
No word on what impact this project may have on the proposed Constantine series Bad Robot has been developing for HBO Max.
