Don’t worry fans, Margot Robbie wants to see a Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy relationship on screen as much as you do.
Speaking With Comic Book in support of her new movie Babylon, the topic of Poison Ivy came up. Could we ever see the fan-favorite “Harlivy” relationship in live-action?
“I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I’ve been pushing for that. I want it too,” said Robbie. “Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics. I don’t really actually picture an actress doing it, but I agree, that would be so good.”
With James Gunn now in place on the creative side of DC Studios, it feels as though chances are better than ever of this being realized. Gunn has been very clear about his love of the character of Harley, and he is clearly very tapped into the desires of fans when it comes to this topic.
While Harley Quinn spent many years being synonymous for her relationship with the Joker, the first seeds of what would grow into the Harlivy relationship were planted all the way back Batman: The Animated Series. Over the years it has grown into other venues and is now the staple of the Harley Quinn animated series on HBO Max.
Could we ever see Margot Robbie’s interpretation of the character go down this road? We’ll just have to wait and see. It is currently unknown when we will next see her appear in a DC production. As for the character of Harley, she will next be played by Lady Gaga in the upcoming Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux in Oct. 2024.
