As Christmas gets closer, and we approach the end of our gift guide posts, you may still be on the lookout for a few other items to round out your holiday shopping. One thing that falls by the wayside all too often are gifts for stockings, which shouldn’t ever be the case. I mean, grab a couple of nice smaller items and some candy, maybe throw in a toothbrush to show that you care about proper dental hygiene, and you’ve got yourself a nice stocking to present to a loved one.
But what kinds of items are available for the Batman fans in your life? I mean… a lot, of course, though Factory Entertainment in particular have some great gift ideas themselves. From pins to plushies, you can find all sorts of items based on the hottest pop culture properties, and Batman is no exception.
Batman Keychain & Pin Set
As an example of the quality product that Factory Entertainment provides, no matter how small, take a look at their Batman keychain and pin set. Just looking at the box you can tell that this is going to be some killer merchandise, with the familiar gold-tinted Batman logo on the front and interior of the gate fold cover.
The real treasures are housed within, though, as the set comes with a keychain with three charms and a nice Bat-logo pin. The keychain is made of solid metal, with a Batarang, Batman’s cowl, and the Joker’s logo making up the charms. A single ring has the chains for each charm attached to it, but the links of each chain are pretty big themselves, so you could keep all three together or take two of the charms off the ring and attach them to other keychains as well, so you have Batman represented on all of your keys.
The pin is incredibly impressive too, made of solid metal and rendered in black and gold. The Bat symbol at the center has those weird barbs that are on Batman’s suit in the movie, which I used to dislike but have come around to loving for how specific they are to this film. With the gold tint making up the rest of the oval, the pin evokes the movie’s poster, which as we all know is one of the all time greats.
Batman and Aquaman scaled prop replicas
We’ve all watched a movie and thought “man, I’d really love to own a prop from this.” Superhero films are no exception, whether you desire a costume worn by your favorite hero, a cool gadget or weapon that was used in a climactic scene, or that absolutely amazing painting of the father-son duo Max and Chip Shrek from Batman Returns.
It is truly my white whale.
The problem is, authentic props are expensive, which is why there’s a pretty lucrative replicas market out there. Factory Entertainment have their own answer to this trend, as they offer scaled replicas of different items from superhero films. If you’re wanting something a bit regal, you can get Aquaman’s trident, which is made of real metal and measures over a foot long. Perfectly capturing the look of the fabled weapon from 2018’s hit film Aquaman, this slender piece is incredibly detailed, with Atlantean script all along the staff, and each prong of the fork rendered in terrifying, pokey detail.
And then, of course, there’s Batman. That film has no shortage of cool props and gadgets and clothing, from the amazing jackets worn by Joker’s goons to the greatest Batmobile in any medium ever, and everything in between. Factory Entertainment have scaled replicas of Batman’s Batarang and grapple launcher, each made of real metal and packaged with a slick plexiglass stand. Despite being scaled, they’re still a decent size, probably around 2/3 the size of the actual props. They fit nicely in hand, especially the Batarang, and given that they’re made of metal they are heavy. With spot-on detailing and accents of paint for the prongs of the Batarang and grappling hook of the launcher, these pieces are high quality, affordable ways to show that you still have Batmania, all these years later.
PawzPlay plush animals
For the little ones in your life (or yourself, because come on, everyone loves a stuffed animal), the adorable PawzPlay line of plush animals will appeal to superhero fans and animal lovers alike. Batman and Superman are both dogs, each in fairly accurate costumes that still look like they belong on an animal.
Even Superman’s spit-curl, which is incredible.
Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn are also represented, though they’re cats rather than canines. Harley looks more like “cat in a Harley outfit” than “Harley as a cat,” but Wonder Woman definitely looks like a feline doppelganger of the Princess of the Amazons. Each plush has its own unique features that set it apart from the others, such as the perfect simplicity of Superman’s costume, Harley’s calico coat, the silver material used for Wonder Woman’s bracelets and tiara, and the clever way the ears on Batman’s cowl are literally just the dog’s ears. These are small, colorful, charming gifts for any fan, from the young to the young at heart.
Batman ’66 Gotham City 14 Miles metal sign
Here we have an item that is so simple, yet it might be my favorite collectible in Factory Entertainment’s entire catalogue (even if it won’t fit in a stocking): a Gotham City 14 Miles sign, just like the one outside of the Batcave in the 1960s Batman television series. The simple two-toned gray hues, the ornate script of Gotham City, and the big, bold 14 MILES make for a unique piece that any fan of the show will appreciate. Sometimes it’s the weirder, sillier, or more niche items that grab our attention, and this sign certainly fits the bill with me.
Create A Treat Batman Wayne Manor cookie set
Finally, while this is not a product offered by Factory Entertainment, I thought it would be worth mentioning. After all, Christmas is a time of loving others, gift-giving, and spending time with loved ones, and what better way to show someone you love them than by making them cookies?
Why, by making them Batman cookies, of course. The do-it-yourself kit come with pre-made cookies shaped like Batman, the Batmobile, the gates of Wayne Manor, and the Manor itself, plus plenty of frosting and some candy pieces for the finishing touches. Even if you aren’t great at frosting cookies, it’s always the thought that counts, and your family is sure to appreciate the fact that you thought of them and Batman at the same time.
