Patty Jenkins has broken her silence over the Wonder Woman 3 film and sates ‘I never walked away.’
After a week of silence, director Patty Jenkins took to social media to issue a statement over her involvement with Wonder Woman 3. In short, she is no longer involved with the film.
“I never walked away,” Jenkins posted to Twitter. “I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”
Those that had speculated this had something to do with her work on Rogue Squadron appear to have been correct, and it appears she may return to that project now. Last November that film was announced to have been delayed indefinitely.
Where the character of Wonder Woman goes from here remains to be seen. Rumors have persisted that she will make cameos in both The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but neither has been officially confirmed.
For now, the Wonder Woman film series should be considered on hold at best, and ended at worst.
