James Gunn has confirmed that DC Studios will continue to work on “Elseworlds” stories.
Gunn was asked by a fan on Tuesday, “James Gunn has confirmed that DC Studios will be working on Elseworlds stories set outside of the main DCU.[sic]” Gunn’s replay was simply, “This is actively happening.”

We can immediately think of three projects that fit this bill: Joker: Folie à Deux, The Batman 2, and the Penguin series for HBO Max. What other projects there may be in the future remains to be seen.
Gunn has been spending a lot of time lately discussing the future of the DCU, but nothing concrete as to what projects we will see in the coming years. For now, we know he is writing a new Superman film script, and we should hear about the first projects in January 2023.
