What were the five biggest news stories of the year for DC fans? We’re about to find out!
Coming in fifth for 2022, was the deleted scene of the Joker from The Batman. While we got the tiniest of teases of him in the actual film, little did we know at the time just how much there could have been originally.
It didn’t take very long into the year for our fourth most popular news story to appear. The Flash was being rumored to make big changes to the DCEU, little did we know exactly what was going to be changing at that point (and neither did they).
Third place shows hat dominated a lot of the headlines this year, big and small, as it shows things were just nuts after the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, and there was reportedly some ire directed at JJ Abrams. Abrams has had a very healthy deal at the studio for several years now, but very little has come out of it. A Superman film is reportedly still in the works, but it’s understandable the company may want to see some progress for their investment.
It’s amazing how much changes in a year, as evidenced by our second biggest news story. As we anxiously await what is to come for the DC Universe, it was in January 2022 we were getting excited for logos. Both Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash received new logos earlier this year.
And the biggest news story of the year was unfortunately a sad one.

It’s never pleasant, but the passing of an icon is always going to be a big story. The unfortunate passing of Kevin Conroy was our biggest news story of the year. After 30 years as the voice of Batman in nearly every form of media imaginable, it’s impossible to think of a Batman fan that hasn’t experienced his work. He will be sorely missed in the years to come.
