Spotify and DC are teaming up once again for a new original podcast entitled, Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind.
Originally announced in July 2022, Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind will see Christinia Ricci (Yellowjackets, Wednesday) playing Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Freshly out of grad school, and now working at Arkham Asylum, she’s setting out to help the patients everyone else has given up on. In her personal life, her father is in need of a life-saving operation she can’t possibly afford.
This eventually leads to her trying her hand at working with the most notorious patient in the asylum, “Patient J.”
Joining Ricci for this seven-episode series will be Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die) as the Joker, while Justin Hartley (This Is Us, Smallville) plays Batman.
Also joining the cast are Amy Sedaris (The Mandalorian, At Home With Amy Sedaris) as Harleen’s Aunt Rose; Andre Royo (Empire, The Spectacular Now) as Arnold Wesker aka The Ventriloquist; Stephen Root (Barry, King of the Hill) as Harleen’s boss, Grunfeld; Fred Melamed (Barry, WandaVision) as Harleen’s co-worker Bob; Mary Holland (Senior Year) as Margaret Pye aka Magpie; and Elias Koteas (Goliath, Chicago PD) as Harleen’s father Nicky Quinzel.
Eli Horowitz (Homecoming) will be writing the series along with Matthew Derby and Rachel Khong.
This marks the second partnership between the two companies, with the first series being Batman: Unburied.
Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind will debut on Spotify on Jan. 31, 2023.
