The Penguin adds Clancy Brown to its cast

Gotham City is getting another crime boss as Clancy Brown has joined the cast of The Penguin as Salvatore Maroni.

The Penguin is heating up to be at the center of a major mafia war as Brown will be playing Boss Maroni. This is, of course, not Brown’s first foray into the world of DC. He has done a lot of voice work for DC Animation projects including as Lex Luthor in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited. He also spent some time as Mister Freeze on The Batman and playing General Eiling on The Flash.

Filming is set to get underway in the coming days, and The Penguin is expanding its cast in the final days. Rhenzy Felix (Runaways), Michael Kelly (Jack Ryan), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse), and Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range) have all joined the series in unknown roles.

The series will see Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, and Cristin Milioti has joined the cast as Sofia Falcone.

Craig Zobel (The Mare of Easttown) has signed on to direct the first two episodes of The Penguin. He will also be serving as an executive producer on the project.

The Penguin project has been discussed for some time and was ordered straight to series shortly after the premiere of The Batman in March 2021.

Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions, Dylan Clark Productions, and Warner Bros. Television are all working on the series. Daniel Pipski from 6th & Idaho Production will also serve as an executive producer along with Rafi Crohn as a co-executive producer.
