Hello and welcome back to Upcoming Comics! No matter what you celebrate, or if you celebrate at all I hope you’re having a good holiday weekend! Mine has been busy and filled with things like apartment hunting and coming down with a cold that’s shaken up pretty much everything. In light of that, I’m going to keep this introduction on the shorter side. We don’t have too many titles we’re covering this week, so let’s dive right in.
Upcoming Comics
Batman Incorporated #7
No one is safe as Professor Pyg continues his warpath across Gotham. Meanwhile, Ghost-Maker has the worst Gotham has to offer in his grasp and must decide whether to keep his promise to Bruce or end their reign of terror-for good. Can Batman Inc. find Pyg in time to save the city? Will Ghost-Maker fall back into his old ways? Guest-starring Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and more of Gotham’s finest. And as if that weren’t enough-the road to Joker Inc. begins here!

- Colors By: Rex Lokus
- Cover By: John Timms
Thoughts: While I like the idea of seeing some of the other Bats guest star here, I’m not excited by the will-he-won’t he pitch of Ghost Maker killing again. I’m even less excited by the idea of a Joker Inc. title spinning out of this.

Multiversity: Harley Screws Up The DCU #2
Harley’s come face-to-face with the most unexpected ally-herself! But just who is this strange Quinn copy, and what the heck is she doing on this strange alternate Earth devoid of heroes and overrun by Starro’d versions of all of Harley’s best friends? (Here’s a hint: it has something to do with Harley screwing up the DCU.)
- Written By: Frank Tieri
- Pencils, Inks, & Colors By: Logan Faerbe
- Cover By: Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti
Thoughts: I thought for some reason that the first issue in this series was a stand alone, that said I’m not opposed to more multiversal chaos featuring Harley, if any character can thrive in that environment Harley is the one to do it.

Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #4
The tragic story of Straightman continues in “Crack-Up,” part two! The Joker’s not-so-funny sidekick is hell-bent on revenge and has arrived at the doorstep of the dastardly doctor who mangled his mind, Hugo Strange. Meanwhile, Batman tangles with a mysterious foe who has a strange and unexpected tie to Straightman.
- Written By: Alan Burnett & Paul Dini
- Pencils & Inks By: Ty Templeton & Jordan Gibson
- Colors By: Monica Kubina
- Cover By: Jorge Corona, Sarah Stern
Thoughts: I’m interested to see where Straightman’s story goes from here, the last issue was a good intro to him, so we’ll see where these new twists take him!

The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #7
Daphne’s martial arts hobby takes center stage at a national competition: Gotham’s Got Talent! It’s all good until her competitors start being talent-napped. Judge Bruce Wayne calls in Batman, who teams up with Mystery Inc. to infiltrate the competition. Can they solve the mystery before front-runner Daphne winds up in real trouble?

Beyond the Bat
Welcome back to Beyond the Bat, where we look at titles outside the Batman sphere of influence to see what else DC is publishing. This week there’s quite a few titles on the list. Superman Lost goes into it’s second issue, and I’m curious to see what you all think of it after the first one, are you excited for the rest of this series? Let me know!
Ratings
Most Excited: Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #4– So far I’ve generally enjoyed this series, and I’m hopeful that it will continue to be a fun read each month.
Least Excited: Batman Incorporated #7- I’m really not excited by that little Joker Inc. teaser at the end of the solicit, even if it doesn’t pan out to be anything. We don’t really need any more Joker books.
Wild Card: Multiversity: Harley Screws Up The DCU #2- I’m pretty sure I had this in the Wild Card slot last month, but that really feels like where a book like this belongs. It could be a ton of fun, or a total disaster, with Harley you never know and I think that’s half the fun of her.
And that’s it for this week’s comics! Don’t forget to let us know your thoughts on the line up and just what you’re excited for! See you in the comments!
