It looks as though James Gunn is ready to begin the screen testing process for Superman: Legacy.

According to a report from Deadline, around Fathers Day Weekend, he will begin screen testing multiple actors for the lead roles of Superman: Legacy.

Clark Kent/Superman

David Corenswet (Pearl) is reportedly one of the names being considered for Clark Kent at the moment.

Nicholas Hoult was down to the final two choices for The Batman, and is considered a favorite at Warner Bros. ever since 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Now it appears he will be testing to suit up as the Last Son of Krypton.

Tom Brittney (Greyhound) is a new name that is being listed, that has not been mentioned previously.

Lois Lane

The race for Lois Lane is reportedly down to three: Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie), Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). Previously, Samara Weaving (Scream VI) was mentioned as being in contention, but she is not mentioned in the most recent reports.

The screen tests are said to be targeting Fathers Day weekend, or possibly the Monday and Tuesday following that. Sources went on to add that not all of the test deals have closed as of yet, but there are not expected to be any issues.

Superman: Legacy is due to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
