Things are moving ahead at DC Studios with another film project having found its writer: Ana Nogueira will be writing the script for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
DC Studios co-chair James Gunn took to social media on Tuesday to confirm an earlier report that Nogueira will be handling scripting duties on the upcoming Supergirl film.
A hearty public welcome to Ana Nogueira to the DC Studios family. Ana is an amazing writer whose screenplay adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow is above and beyond anything I hoped it would be. We’re excited to be moving forward on this unique take on Supergirl in this beautiful, star-spanning tale.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s with good reason. She has been previously announced for another Supergirl film that would have starred Sasha Calle. That film would have been a spinoff from the recent The Flash film, but the project was canceled following the changeover to DC Studios.
Nogueira may be best known for her acting career having appeared on CW’s The Vampire Diaries and other series. SHe has been getting deeper into writing and her play Which Way to the Stage made its off-Broadway debut in 2022.
No director has been named for the project as of yet, but Gunn confirmed in social media comments that the search for one will be commencing now that the script has been delivered.
