Gotham has recast Poison Ivy for a second time.
14-year-old Clare Foley originally had the Gotham role, before being transformed into an older, more seductive version of the character. That’s when Maggie Geha took over for Season 3. But now she’s being replaced by Peyton List, who played Lisa Snart / Golden Glider on The Flash.
“In the continuing evolution of Poison Ivy’s origin story, Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics — dangerous [and] a live wire of crazy energy,” the series’ producers said in a statement. “She’ll set her sights on Gotham, intent on making the city her own green paradise.”
We last saw Maggie Geha’s Poison Ivy drink some potions to make herself more powerful. I’m not sure why a new actress is needed, especially since Maggie Geha and Peyton List are about the same age, but it sounds like producers are citing story reasons.
