Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies were undoubtedly superb, but their realistic setting meant the filmmaker was very much restricted when it came to how many of the gadgets from the pages of the comic books could be brought to the big screen. The director’s Dark Knight Trilogy certainly had fun with The Tumbler, Batpod and flying Bat, not to mention many of the other weapons wielded by the Caped Crusader across the three critically acclaimed movies, but there are still so many others just waiting to be utilized in a live-action setting.
However, Zack Snyder’s take on the iconic DC superhero opens up the door to a whole new take on Batman which also means a new take on his gadgets too! So, we thought that now would be as good a time as any to count down some of the best gadgets used by the Caped Crusader over the years, and ones we’d particularly like to see in 2016 when Batman vs. Superman is finally released. 10. Batplane
“The Bat” helped to make Batman airborne in The Dark Knight Rises, but there’s still room for Zack Snyder to take that idea and expand on it. As Superman and Wonder Woman take flight in Batman vs. Supeman, the Caped Crusader will need a way of joining them high above the skies of Gotham and Metropolis, and what we can see above – taken from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s superb Batman series – would make for an incredibly cool visual on the big screen come 2016. The Batplane has served Batman extremely well over the years, allowing him to travel between locations extremely quickly and take the fight to the skies against his enemies when necessary.
