‘Wonder Woman’ uses Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL’s theme song, but they won’t score the movie

The Wonder Woman Comic-Con trailer and the brand new trailer that was released today both feature the iconic theme song that Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL wrote for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With Hans Zimmer stating that he’s retired from the superhero genre, fans wondered who would be writing the music for Wonder Woman. Would Junkie XL do it on his own like he’s doing for Justice League? The answer is no.

Rupert Gregson-Williams will be writing the music for Wonder Woman, the composer revealed today in an interview with The Playlist. He wrote the score for the new Mel Gibson directed movie Hacksaw Ridge, and also worked on The Legend of Tarzan for Warner Bros. earlier this year.

I’m sure Gregson-Williams will bring his own flavor to Wonder Woman, but it’s great to see that the theme song by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL will still be part of the movie. It’s one of the most memorable themes from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, after all.
