According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Brenton Thwaites has been cast as Dick Grayson in the lead role for Titans, which will premiere in 2018 on DC’s upcoming online streaming service.
“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have. Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protégé and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character,” executive producer Geoff Johns said.
It’s interesting that the names Robin or Nightwing are never mentioned, just “Dick Grayson”. Other casting news has been released over the last month. Anna Diop will play Starfire and Teagan Croft is Raven.
