Earlier this year, Suicide Squad director David Ayer posted a very honest letter looking back at what he would’ve done differently with the movie. One of the things he wished he would’ve done was making Jared Leto’s Joker the main villain. And now 11 months later, he still regrets not doing it.
“Believe me. I agonize over this,” Ayer tweeted yesterday when a fan said that The Joker should’ve been the villain. “Yes. Joker should have been main bad guy.”

Maybe Suicide Squad 2 director Gavin O’Connor will learn from Ayer’s mistake and make The Joker the main villain. The Rock’s Black Adam is also rumored to appear as a villain in that movie.
