Warner Bros. has named Michael De Luca a producer on Suicide Squad 2, according to Variety. Most recently De Luca has produced the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, but he has some winners under his belt as well. He was also a producer on The Social Network, Moneyball, and Captain Phillips.
Variety speculates that Warner Bros. is going to put producers in charge of single movies, rather than having them oversee multiple different DC movies like they have in the past. Update: Suicide Squad, and longtime DC movie producer Charles Roven, will in fact be back for the sequel.
Gavin O’Connor is writing and directing Suicide Squad 2. Production is expected to start this fall.
