Just in case you were wondering what comics may be serving as inspiration for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, DC Universe Infinite has let the cat out of the bag.
In a tweet over the weekend, the online subscription service shared a tweet, saying, “Looking forward to SUPERMAN: LEGACY? So are we! Read the comics that inspired the upcoming film on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE.”

When you click through, four titles are shown. Labeled as “Start Here” are Superman: Birthright, All-Star Superman, and Superman: Brainiac. Then, under “Selected Collections” is Superman: Ending Battle.
It’s anyone’s guess what he will take from each of these titles, but that is quite the lineup of stories for him to pull from.
It was recently announced that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Superman and Lois Lane respectively. Casting is currently under way for Lex Luthor.
Superman: Legacy is due to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
