Joker starts filming the week of September 10th in New York City, and star Joaquin Phoenix is already in town and looks noticeably thinner as he gets ready to play The Joker.
Just Jared shared some paparazzi photos of Phoenix walking around NYC with Joker director Todd Phillips this past Wednesday. Phoenix was never a big guy, but you can definitely tell that he’s lost a lot of weight to play The Joker, who is typically portrayed as tall and skinny.
