2. The Wider Universe
As well as the rogue’s gallery and Batman’s wider family of characters, the DC element would also offer theme park designers an opportunity to explore the wider universe beyond the confines of Gotham.
Why stick to only Batman, when a larger park could feature other smaller sections dedicated to Metropolis, a futuristic quadrant for Green Lantern or a waterpark based on the world of Aquaman. With the problems that will inevitably come with the JLA movie, and balancing enough focus to make it not descend into the Batman Superman love-in it’s probably going to be, there are probably more plus points to giving up before any wasted energy is spent on the formula. And clearly, a theme park could fill that gap for fans who really want a way to celebrate the super-ensemble.
On their own, they might not represent significant enough draws to justify individual parks, but as side-shows to the main attraction they would offer diverse experiences, positively at odds with the main focus of Gotham.
