Following on from a single image tease on Tuesday, Gotham has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming final season. The entire video focuses on how Jeremiah (Cameron Monaghan) got to where is today. At the very end of the video you see a brief new show of him with a straight razor, and it concludes with “Happy Halloween from Mr. J”.
With “Mr. J” now being thrown around, it does make us curious if this is a hint that a Gotham version of Harley Quinn is on the way. We did see Jeremiah’s assistant Ecco (Francesca Root-Dodson) don a variation of a harlequin costume in season 4, but it was unclear if she was the Harley Quinn that we know. It would be the easiest route to go for sure, but she seemed a bit too formal to ever refer to Jeremiah as “Mr. J.”
Gotham season 5 will premiere on Jan. 3, and we have also learned recently that it has received an expanded episode count from 10 to 12. With everything that is being promised to happen, it sounds like they will need it.
