As pre-production on Matt Reeves‘ The Batman continues to ramp up, so will the casting rumors. The latest name to be thrown into the ring for Catwoman is Vanessa Kirby.
According to a report from The Geeks WorldWide – which has been spot on with lots of other casting reports – Kirby is on the shortlist for the role of Selina Kyle, but has not yet secured it. Kirby is probably most widely known for playing Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown. She also was in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and will next be seen in Hobbs & Shaw.
With six villains said to be in The Batman, we’re going to be going through several rounds of shortlisted actors. Be prepared as the summer months progress. If you thought the road to Robert Pattinson becoming Batman was a long one, we’re just getting started.
The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
