Birds of Prey scene confirmed by Warner Media corporate video

It’s always interesting where new footage can appear from. The latest Birds of Prey confirmation comes from a Warner Media corporate video giving an update on diversity and inclusion.

We’ve heard for some time that there will be a roller derby scene in the film, but little has been seen of it outside of one hastily deleted photo of stunt doubles. The video gives us a quick glimpse of Margot Robbie – in a yet-unseen Harley Quinn costume – consulting with director Cathy Yan.

While this doesn’t give us any clues to the content of the scene, it at least confirms it does exist.

The footage appears at the 1:13 mark. You don’t see much more than the still photo shows.

It is becoming increasingly clear that this version of Harley is more like the New 52 version of the character. That had been the belief for some time, but with each new outfit, it is just further confirmation of it.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be the first appearance of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn since Suicide Squad. She will be joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the Huntress, while Jurnee Smollett-Bell will be playing Black Canary. Rosie Perez will be playing Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain as well. And Ewan McGregor joined the cast as Gotham City villain Black Mask.

The Birds of Prey movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
